Videos: Heather Peace - DJs Got Us Falling in Love & a Surprise Guest at Village Underground

Brill cover of Usher's tune preceded by an emotional moment when Heather thanked Jill et al. Not sure if you can see Heather's teary eyes here; I was so focused on her expression that I forgot to turn my camera towards Jill... Two great artists and voices! Hope they'll continue what they started.

And VIPs were around too. Ruta Gedmintas (Frankie in Lip Service) graced Village Underground with her presence in support of her co-star and couldn't leave without saying a proper hello to the crowd. And Heather introduces the next song, Forgive me (written by Jill Jackson and part of Jill's Back To Zero album) which was part of an extraordinary encore - more in my next post.

After Human Nature, Heather threw her hat to the crowd totally forgetting there's one more gig to play -- Cardiff! :) Now she's gonna need a new one.

Heather Peace, Jill Jackson and Lisa Tring Hit Their First UK Tour

I have written already on some occasions both here, on my blog, as well as on suite101.com about the British actress, singer and songwriter Heather Peace, one of the stars of BBC3's drama Lip Service. She is 100% talent!

After gigging last year as a one woman show in small venues across UK, all of them sold out, Heather decided to run a bigger tour this spring, this time not on her own.

As much as it was planned, Heather's UK Tour didn't start exactly stress free for her, when her crew was stuck in harbour in Scotland while they were supposed to set up the venue in Belfast for the first night. Everything turned up right, eventually, and on March 31st, Heather was able to kick-off her tour alongside two awesome musicians: Scottish singer-songwriter and guitarist Jill Jackson and drummer Lisa Tring.

It's been 10 days since it's started and the feedback on Twitter and Facebook from those who went to see them play already is overwhelming. It's been immensely successful so far. A few highlights that are worth to be mentioned:

  • Heather's parents are supporting her all the way in this endeavour. Not only is her Dad - "christened" Papa Peace after the tour started - the designated driver of the 'Peacemobile', but on Mother's Day, Heather's Mom joined the ladies trio in Glasgow and performed together, to the surprise and delight of fans.
  • Heather's Youtube channel is being constantly updated with an exclusive daily video diary, thanks to videomaker Patrick Stutt who is joining Heather's tour to make a special pay per view online rockumentary. Also, fans are invited to send Patrick their own footage from Heather's shows to be included in the final rockumentary. There will be four episodes at around 20 minutes long featuring highlights from each date of the tour, backstage antics with Lisa and Jill, and on the road footage from the 'Peacemobile'. The webseries will be live on Heather's web site as of June 20th. More details here.
  • On April 9th, Heather made her international debut at L-Beach, Europe's biggest women's indoor festival in Germany. Despite issues with her voice she didn't want to dissapoint her German fanbase for whom she squeezed this one day gig into her tour agenda.
  • One gig though, the one that was supposed to take place today in Cardiff, had to be postponed as she needed to follow her doctor's advice of resting her voice for at least two days. The tour resumes on April 12th in Bristol and the Cardiff gig had to be postponed until May 2nd.

Hopefully all goes well - Heather already sent out an optimistic tweet that "the voice is already in recovery" - as I'll be in London on April 15th for the finale show! Meanwhile, having a look at some fan videos from the shows that I came across, these two [both belong to ceebee9999] got my attention. I sure know what to look forward to on the 15th! Superb! :)
